DIGGING (Homage to Séamus Heaney)

This work was inspired by the poem: "Digging" by Irish Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney. The poet takes the theme of trans-generational transmission and draws a parallel between his craft of writing poetry and his father's no-less noble work of toiling the land. A similar parallel applies to me, except I am a painter not a poet. Heaney's work brings out the Irish in me.
